Visit Quincy, IL

With a population of 42,000, Quincy is the largest city in a 100-mile radius and the commercial hub for 600,000 people in Western Illinois, Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa. Located on the banks of the picturesque Mississippi River and only 20 miles north of Mark Twain’s Hometown of Hannibal, MO, Quincy offers residents and visitors a taste of the arts, entertainment and culture not often found in communities our size.

Maybe it’s because we’ve been at it a long time. Quincy is home to America’s first Arts Council, Arts Quincy, established in 1947. We also have the local Quincy Art Center that showcases area work and holds community art classes for individuals of all ages.

Or it could be our 10 museums, 5 area wineries, 500-seat state-of-the-art Quincy Community Theatre, or one of our many musical performance groups.

A downtown in the midst of revitalization also helps when it comes to unique places to shop, eat and relax. Speaking of relaxing, we have 1,000 acres of parks in Quincy alone ready for you to spread a blanket.

We could go on, but we’ll let our friends at the Quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau take it from here. You’ll find an area calendar of events, lists of restaurants and hotels, shops and more.
